Peter and Mary met at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas their sophomore year of college (go frogs!). They bonded over both being math minors and a shared love for friends, family, and sports. Peter asked Mary on their first date a year later, taking her to a Quinn XCII concert in Dallas followed by ice cream on the roof of the Waits house.

Peter and Mary reconnected in the fall of 2022 at a TCU game in Boulder, CO attended by all of their friends. Since Peter lived in Dallas and Mary in Seattle, they found ways to see each other through ski trips, weekends away, and more TCU football games. Even though the Broncos hadn't beaten the Chiefs since Peter met Mary, he decided she was worth the risk of jinxing his team and moved to Seattle to be with her the next summer.

Peter surprised Mary in mid-October by proposing at the stunning conservatory at Volunteer Park, close to their Seattle home. Friends and family traveled into town to celebrate with them that night- even Teddy was at the engagement party! If you ask Mary, she'd say it was the best night ever!!

Peter and Mary took engagement photos at the iconic Pike Place Market to celebrate their life together in Seattle. They also took photos at Murphy's Irish Pub, the local bar where Mary and Peter play trivia with their friends every Thursday night, and the staff even know them by name!
